Captain Lou Albano Dies But His Greatness In Wrestling Will Not Die
One of the most popular and renowned wrestlers, Captain Lou Albano dies He died Wednesday at his home in upstate Carmel ending a six-decade career as a wrestler and leaving a wrestling manager and pop culture icon status.

Captain Lou was not only a star in wrestling but was a big screen star. He starred as Cyndi Lauper’s father in the music video for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. This project opened lost of opportunities for him through other Hollywood celebrity tie-ins. It also helped make the first WrestleMania Event a huge success in 1985. In the wrestling industry, there are only few wrestlers who possess charisma and one of them was Lou. Actually, his manager thought of him as a natural cartoon character.
Lou Albano was born on July 29, 1933, in Rome. During his college years he was a football player of the University of Tennessee. In 1950’s he entered the business of pro-wrestling. Along with Tony Almonte, Lou created an evil tag team named The Sicilians. But his biggest mark in wrestling was standing at ringside trash talking.
The 1980’s saw Lou evolving into one of wrestling’s most hated characters to one of the most beloved. Lou’s colorful personality was a good fit with other flashy persona who filled the shows. He always put some stuff on his face in order to get attention from the crowd. Even though Lou is dead, wrestling followers will still recognize him and remember his contribution to the business. He will still be remembered as one of the Hall of Fame Of WWE. Lou Albano was a great wrestler and his character as Captain will never fade.
